Error Conditions

"Incorrect Settings"
Possible causes:
1)  secret is wrong
2)  TID is incorrect (i.e. using test TID in proaction or vice versa)

"Error during transaction"
Possible causes for a First Data merchant:
1)  MCC code entered into gateway does not match MCC code on First Data host
2)  DataWire Authentication error
  • DataWire ID (DID) was entered incorrectly or has an alpha character in it (note:  should be 20 digits long and numeric only)
  • DID is pointed to the wrong gateway at DataWire (PayAnywhere for instance)
  • DID has been de-activated by First Data -- sometimes due to late performance of risk check of merchant
  • For Nashville Merchants, DataWire requires the leading '0' on the TID, which makes the TID 8 digits -- if this leading zero is left off, you will receive DW authentication error
3)  TID missing lead '0'
4)  MID is incorrect
